Mel B's Divorce Drama: 5 Things You Need To Know

It's been a tricky time for the former Spice Girl, who is now filing for divorce from estranged ex Stephen Belafonte.

Mel B's husband, Stephen Belafonte who has been accused of domestic violence by his wife spoke for the first time since Mel B filed divorce against him. Apart from clashes over monetary demands, they are even fighting for the custody of their five-year-old daughter Madison, says a report.

"He wanted double that but he'll take what's being offered because if he gets into a fight with her then her pockets are much deeper than his", the source added.

Mel B's decision to begin divorce proceedings last month, just 11 weeks before their ten year anniversary, could save the former Spice Girl millions.

Just days ago, Brown filed papers claiming Belafonte had been "violent and abusive" during their marriage and forced the singer to take part in threesome and make sex tapes.

"They are the only things that matter to me", he told The Sunday Mirror.

According to TMZ, Stephen Belafonte would have acquired (or rented) a garage that he would have put on behalf of Lorraine Gilles (the famous nanny) and in which he would store personal belongings belonging to Mel B.

"The mum-of-three wrote: "[Stephen] threatened that he would tell X Factor and the press that I tried to kill myself so I would lose my job.

Other reports circulating around the divorce battle - in addition to Simon Cowell convincing Mel B to leave the house - indicate that Stephen Belafonte may have plans to bring the nanny he allegedly got pregnant to be a witness against Mel B in court hearings.

"Should a permanent order be granted, Mel B will be given primary legal and physical custody and Stephen will be at a severe disadvantage for his rights as a father".

His request was made in a letter written by his lawyer and sent to Mel's lawyer on 31 March (17), in which it was stated: "Stephen would like to schedule a meeting as soon as possible to discuss the resolution of temporary issues including his ability to see Madison and Angel, whom we would appreciate continuing to have contact with".
