Schools during manhunt for gun theft suspect

A video released Friday shows a man who looks to be Jakubowski mailing a thick envelope to the president.

About 150 local, state and federal law enforcement officers and support staff are involved in the hunt for Jakubowski, according to the Associated Press.

According to Janesville Police Chief David Moore, over the years, his department has also had multiple run-ins with Jakubowski. Jakubowski is considered armed and highly risky.

Dozens of schools were closed or locked down on Thursday and Friday as authorities continued their search for Jakubowski, who they said should be considered "armed and unsafe". They have had contact with Jakubowski before including an instance where he tried to take a weapon from an officer.

Police say Jakubowski recently sent a 160-page manifesto to Trump outlying anti-religious sentiment as well. The manifesto cited anger with all government officials, upper class and authority.

A Monday article on CNN.com pointed out that "authorities have received almost 425 tips as they searched for the man".

Jakubowski also has a bulletproof vest.

Authorities alerted school districts to notify them about Jakubowski.

The FBI says they are now offering a $10,000 reward for any information that leads to the arrest of Jakubowski. Their tip line is 1-800-225-5324.

About three hours later, Rock County Sheriff Robert Spoden said Jakubowski burglarized a gun store in Janesville, Wisconsin, about 70 miles (110 kilometers) southwest of Milwaukee. He pleaded guilty in Rock County in 2008 to charges of battery, disarming a peace officer and bail jumping. You can watch it live on NBC15 and nbc15.com.

Jakubowski, a 32-year-old from Janesville, sent the manifesto on the same day that he allegedly robbed the gun shop, according to a CNN report citing the Rock County Sheriff's Office.

Cops discovered a vehicle belonging to Jakubowski near the gun shop early last week. The fire was determined to be arson. But authorities say they had never witnessed this "anti-government or terrorist-type" behavior before. Witnesses say the auto was in flames when the incident was reported to police.

"They are absolutely keeping their eyes wide for any sign of this individual, any calls that come in, tips of possible sightings have been getting a very immediate response", said Commander Troy Knudson of the Rock County Sheriff's Office.
