Apple WWDC 2017: New iOS and MacoS on the way?

The WWDC 2017 will be held at the McEnery Convention Centre in San Jose, California this time. It is scheduled to start at 1 pm ET/10 am PT.

We already knew the dates of Apple's WWDC event this year, but Apple earlier today made it official when it sent out official invitations to the event. Apple tends to kick off WWDC with a main keynote around 10am PST, and it's usually available to watch online.

Every year Apple host the event inviting millions of developers across the globe to learn about a range of Apple's new platform technologies involving programming languages like Swipe to breakthrough developers APIs like SiriKit, HomeKit, HealthKit and CarPlay and inspires them to continue creating or make improvements.

We are unlikely to learn too much more about the various software updates until Apple shows us on the day, as history shows new hardware leaks far more often (and comprehensively) than software. Amazon yesterday announced the launch of Echo Snow, an Amazon Echo-like device with a 7-inch touchscreen for making and receiving calls, among other uses. Apple expects to host over 5,000 developers at this year's conference. The latest version of Apple's iPhone and iPad operating system is likely to offer tweaks to existing tools such as 3D Touch, as well as boosting Siri, Apple's virtual assistant.

The alleged Siri Speaker will be Apple's first home AI product launched to compete against the Amazon Echo and Google Home.

The iPad Pro range is due for an upgrade, as the larger 12.2in model remains unchanged (aside from a price cut) since late 2015 and the 9.7in version is now just over a year old.
