Conservatives Threaten ABC Boycott Over Last Man Standing Cancellation

Tim Allen's "Last Man Standing" has been canceled by ABC after six seasons, which has angered Conservative fans of the show. "It was the third most watched ABC scripted series overall behind Grey's Anatomy and Modern Family". Rising production costs were cited as a contributing factor.

In "Last Man Standing", Allen portrayed the role of the head of a sporting goods store in Colorado and the father of three daughters, who tried to maintain his manliness even as his own personal world became heavily dominated by the females in his life.

"It's interesting that ABC would pick this time to cancel one of the few shows on TV that reflects a conservative point of view", The San Jose Mercury News stated.

The Blaze took ABC to task.

The news that ABC decided not to renew Tim Allen's sitcom Last Man Standing for a seventh season did not sit well with the executive director of the Madison-Rivergate Chamber of Commerce in Nashville, to say the least. Allen recently made headlines when he compared being conservative in Hollywood to living 1930s Nazi Germany.

"You've gotta be real careful around here", Allen said. "You get beat up if [you] don't believe what everybody believes. I don't know what happened".

Come on, we're supposed to believe that?

Over the course of the 22-episode sixth season, the show drew solid numbers in spite of its Friday night time slot.

Some have also speculated that the reason for the cancelation is that Robert Iger, the chairman and CEO of ABC's parent company, The Walt Disney Company, is mulling a run for president as a Democrat in 2020.

Whatever the explanation is, conservative Twitter is unhappy. "The new ABC Entertainment president, Channing Dungey, has actually said heading into the pilot season that she's looking for ways to better represent the "right" side, so this show would have fit that bill".

Representatives for ABC did not immediately respond to a request for comment about the reasons for the show's cancellation.

Consumers have never had to pay to use any of these formats, so, from where we sit, AAC or MP3 or WMA, it doesn't matter too much. Since it can still license AAC , it's very much in the FIIC's interest for the world to become convinced that the MP3 is dead.
