LG announces X venture - rugged phone with QuickButton

LG announces X venture - rugged phone with QuickButton

Going on an adventure?

LG today introduced an exciting new mid-range Android smartphone that joins its X line, dubbed the X Venture.

Namely, an nearly comparable "heavy-duty, high-capacity" 4,100mAh cell to the 4,500mAh packed by the global X power2, but also a "stylishly resilient" design and overall rather great specs. It will be sold exclusively on AT&T network. The X Venture, according to LG, is "designed for active users" who have "on-the-go lifestyles". The body as a whole passed a number of MIL-STD 810G tests. They are a barometer, compass, activity counter, exercise tracker, weather reporter, and flashlight. So the X Venture is ready for knocks, drops, spills, and pretty much everything imaginable. LG also lumped a handful of different features together into one single application called Outdoor Essentials that are meant to help during outdoor activities if needed.

The QuickButton is multi-purposed - a short press opens up Outdoor Essentials, a long press prompts the settings menu while a double press will enable Glove Mode.

The LG X Venture's Full HD screen is encased in Gorilla Glass 4 and surrounded by a metal frame and textured, slip-proof rear case. If you want, you can assign this button to launch an app of your choice.

Coming to AT&T in the U.S. starting May 26, and to Europe, Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and Latin America in the weeks that follow, this phone looks to bring solid performance and protection both against theft with its fingerprint sensor and against the elements with its IP68 rating.

The X Venture features a 5.2-inch FHD (1080p) display, Snapdragon 435 processor, 2GB RAM, 32GB storage, rear 16MP camera, front 5MP camera, Android 7.0 Nougat, and a whopping 4100mAh battery.
