Niantic teases Legendary Pokémon for Pokémon GO this summer

Niantic teases Legendary Pokémon for Pokémon GO this summer

In his acceptance speech, Bhargava said only five words which left little to the imagination, which was, "This summer will be legendary".

Legendary Pokémon have been the stuff of, well, legend, since the game's launch a year ago. Less than a month ago, Niantic CEO John Hanke teased that a Pokemon GO legendary event would be coming soon and promised concerned fans that the developer wouldn't do this with half-measures. Where are they? Legend has it that Niantic is adding them to the game for the summer of 2017.

Considering this came from the game's global marketing lead, I think it's a safe bet to expect the Legendary birds to swoop into Pokémon GO this summer. However, all of that might change this summer. Avid fans of Pokemon GO have eagerly waited for the release of this legendary.

Running until 9pm on May 25, Niantic's latest Pokemon Go event has already begun in the UK. Niantic will reportedly be launching this event for commemorating a successful year of "Pokemon GO" as it was launched last year, reports GSM Arena. As Mewtwo is seen to have appeared on a big happening in the trailer (which you can watch below) it is likely that this Pokemon, along with the others, will pay a visit during the celebrations. Dataminers have also seen such Pokemon from Gen 2, which are Entei, Raikou, Lugia, Suicune, Ho-oh and Celebi. [Image by KeongDaGreat/Shutterstock] Again, this is a sign that players might not be able to capture the legendary Pokemon via normal means.

Gamers who spotted the extremely rare dual rock and ground type Pokemon immediately took toRedditto announce the surprise. Could Niantic have done this deliberately, or could they have done it by accident? But seeing that there are a number of creatures just waiting to be captured, Niantic may hold separate events for each one.
