Putin: 'Political schizophrenia' developing in US

Officials in Washington have said that Trump disclosed to Lavrov highly classified information provided by Israeli intelligence about a planned terrorist operation by the Islamic State group extremist group.

US President Donald Trump meets with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, left, next to Russian Ambassador to the U.S. Sergei Kislyak at the White House in Washington, Wednesday, May 10, 2017.

First reported by The Washington Post, Trump's most recent scandal was widely picked up by more news outlets.

The internal political struggle in the U.S., including anti-Russian rhetoric as one of its manifestations, can harm the United States itself, Putin said.

The Israeli intelligence community is reportedly reeling since Trump made the disclosure to Russian officials at a White House meeting.

WASHINGTON, D.C. (WWSB)-Suncoast Congressman Vern Buchanan (R-Longboat Key) is releasing a statement, calling on former Federal Bureau of Investigation director James Comey to testify before Congress in regard to his conversations with President Donald Trump.

One, that senior White House officials contacted the Central Intelligence Agency and the NSA after Trump made his revelations, which means Trump did blabber mindlessly about security threats.

The National Security Adviser, General HR McMaster, reiterated that the intelligence sharing was "wholly appropriate" and based on "open source reporting".

The White House refused to comment on the report.

Critics pointed out that the incident could complicate USA relationship with its key allies because US allies that have special intelligence-sharing relationship with the USA would ask why Trump deemed it fit to share with the Russians sensitive intelligence that was being withheld from them. Of particular concern, Trump is reported to have revealed the city from which the intelligence was gathered.

The report also suggested that Trump had revealed the city in the Islamic State's territory where the USA intelligence partner detected the threat.

Asked if she had confidence in the US president, May said Britain's "special relationship" with the United States was the "most important defense and security relationship" it had around the world.

After White House officials denied that the president had shared classified data inappropriately, Trump tweeted that he has "the absolute right" to share information with the Russians.

She said the Relationship with The US "is the most important defense and security relationship that we have around the world".

Mr Putin said that Moscow initially found debates about Russia's meddling in USA politics "funny", but said Moscow is now "concerned because it is hard to imagine what the people who produce such nonsense can come up with next". "I think it's far worse to not tell one of our allies if we have security information than the risks of it getting into the wrong hands through President Trump".
