Trump Security for NYC Visit to Cost $300K, NYPD Commissioner Says

Trump Security for NYC Visit to Cost $300K, NYPD Commissioner Says

"That's good news for our city and the hardworking police officers faced with this unprecedented security challenge", de Blasio said in a statement.

Around $34 million going toward the Secret Service could also be used to protect the first family in NY, and when the older Trump children take business or vacation trips.

"The block is now unwelcoming and looks like a war zone", Democratic city council member Daniel R. Garodnick told the New York Times of the Fifth Avenue area Trump Towers is located following the election.

According to the New York Post, New York City spent $24 million on security measures for Trump Tower between Election Day and Donald Trump's inauguration.

About $58 million would go directly to the Secret Service.

When the president visits his wife and child in the future, NYPD security costs during his visits would shoot up to around $308,000 per day, O'Neill said - the same as when he still lived at the Tower.

While millions of Americans continue fighting for their rights and protest against budget cuts, President Donald Trump and his family continue living a lavish lifestyle. Estimates vary as to how much those figures tapered off after his move to Washington, D.C., but the Big Apple has continued picking up the bill for the Trumps' security in Trump Towers ever since.

Congress would allocate more than $120 million to help cover the escalating costs of protecting the first family and Trump Tower under a bipartisan spending agreement that appears poised to pass this week. It's not New York City or Palm Beach's fault Trump has a residence in their jurisdictions. The bulk of the money would go to Florida, where Trump spends considerable time at his Mar-a-Lago resort, and to New York-where First Lady Melania Trump and son Barron Trump plan remain until the close of the current school year.

The budget agreement includes $40 million to reimburse costs incurred after the inauguration, Maloney said.

The additional funding, which comes after weeks of mostly behind the scenes lobbying, reflects the tremendous costs associated with protecting the lifestyle of Trump and his family.

City taxpayers are now dishing out an estimated $150,000 per day for the personal NYPD and FDNY security detail assigned to Trump Tower in Midtown Manhattan.

Election Day and the president's January 20 inauguration.

Mayor Bill de Blasio and Governor Andrew Cuomo, both Democrats, have said his stance on immigrants has put him at odds with a city where almost a third of residents are foreign-born.
