Arsenal make offer for Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette

Arsenal have jumped to the front of the queue for Lyon hitman Alexander Lacazette, it seems.

"Alexandre Lacazette was told he could leave... we had negotiations with Atletico".

There has been yet more confusion added to Arsenal's pursuit of Lyon's Alexandre Lacazette, after the club's president Jean-Michel Aulas spoke to the press about the player's current predicament.

Lyon turned down a ₤ 43m bid for Lacazette from West Pork last summertime and also Aulas had actually at first suggested he would not stand in the gamer's way if a move to the club "in his heart" became available.

In May, Lacazette said that the club which signed him would need to play good football and play in the Champions League - yet again causing lazy journalists to link the Reds with the Frenchman.

The France worldwide had agreed a deal to join Atletico Madrid this summer but the La Liga giants had their transfer ban upheld and are now unable to sign players until 2018. "But for us he will not leave".

Despite that, numerous outlets, Sky Sports among them, have reported that Aulas confirmed Arsenal have made an offer for the player. This will come as bad news for Arsenal news, though, as they are only in the Europa League.

Los Blancos were in the market to strengthen their goalkeeping options this season, and identified Manchester United's David de Gea as the man to replace to Keylor Navas between the sticks.

The two were spotted in the city this week according to journalist Matt Spiro.

Where else? Well, if Arsene Wenger has his way, Arsenal is where else.
