Woman who stormed stage during 'Julius Caesar' is arrested

Basically, this specific production shows Julius Caesar as a Trump-like figure.

Tonight, Rebel reporter Laura Loomer was arrested in NY after interrupting the Broadway production of Julius Caesar, a play by William Shakespeare that had been politically altered to feature the assassination of U.S. President Donald Trump.

It was a week of controversy for the Public Theater's production of "Julius Caesar" in Central Park.

The incident was filmed by Jack Posobiec, a right wing provocateur best known for helping to spread the Pizzagate conspiracy theory.

An announcer came over the intercom to pause the production and direct security to escort her off stage. Security was called as the second protester yelled at the crowd, calling them "Nazis" and accusing members of the crowd of being like Joseph Goebbels. You are all inciting terrorists! Posobiec also referenced this week's mass-shooting at a baseball field in Alexandria, Virginia, which left five people injured, including the House Majority Whip. The gunman, James Hodgkinson, had a history of domestic violence.

Loomer took to the stage just after the stabbing scene, shouting "This is violence against Donald Trump", and "stop the normalization of political violence against the right".

Loomer was reportedly charged with trespassing and disorderly conduct.

Two protestors disrupted our show tonight; we stopped the show for less than a minute and our stage manager handled it beautifully.

What's more, New York City's Public Theater has reportedly received almost $30 million in federal, state, and city grants since 2009, according to data published by OpenTheBooks CEO and Forbes contributor Andrew Andrzejewski. "Freedom!" before continuing. "Free speech for all, but let's not stop the show", he said, according to the New York Times.

"While we are champions of the first amendment, this interruption unfortunately was part of a paid strategy driven by social media", the message read.

Shakespeare & Company in Lenox, Massachusetts received a letter wishing them 'the worst possible life you could have and hope you all get sick and die.' Meanwhile Shakespeare Dallas has a collection including one hoping the theatre staff will be 'sent to ISIS to be killed with real knives'. A canny right-wing response to the production could have praised it for embedding conservative and even Trump-supporting ideas inside the more obvious, arguably even ham-fisted depiction of the president. Angry Trump supporters even convinced Bank of America and Delta Air Lines to pull their sponsorship of the program.
