Mostly sunny skies are expected for the middle of the week, with the threat of scattered showers and thunderstorms around.

High's over the weekend will be in the 90's, but with more clouds and rain forecast, temperatures will lower to slightly below normal for this time of year.

Saturday: A chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms otherwise partly cloudy with highs in the lower 90s.

High: 94-96. Sunday: Good Chance for Showers and Storms, Mainly in the Afternoon. Heat index values as high as 100.

There is a severe thunderstorm watch in effect until 9:00 p.m. Friday for Adams, Cumberland, Franklin, Lancaster and York counties, according to the National Weather Service in State College. Mostly cloudy with a low around 74.

By Tuesday, the rain chances go back down to 30% with partly cloudy skies and will continue into Wednesday with similar conditions.

Saturday, it will be sunny with a high near 88 and a calm wind becoming east around 5 miles per hour in the afternoon, the weather service said. Northwest wind 5 to 7 miles per hour. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 66. Lows around 77. Highs around 91 feeling like 95-100.

Tuesday. Sunny, with a high near 96 degrees. Expect highs near 90 with late day shower and storm chances.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 80.
