PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds Getting FOV Slider In July Update

The next update for PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is going to be a big one.

PlayerUnknown himself, Brendan Greene has been careful on how he addresses the dedicated servers, stating on the official Discord that it would be a little while longer before players have access to them.

There's a good reason for dubbing this "hardcore mode".

PlayerUnknown Battleground's allows you to play in either third person or first person, but many people default to the easier to navigate third person view.

When limited to first-person view, the already-challenging PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds will further ramp up in difficulty, with more tension to fill each match as it becomes much harder for players to see if there are enemies around. These first-person servers will only be available in the Solo and Duo games for America and Europe, but "will expand to other regions" once everything has been fine-tuned.

They are set to be added to the game in the next update, and will not be replacing old servers but adding new ones. FOV sliders can be crucial in preventing motion sickness, among other things, and are a fixture in most first person games.

Now, it appears that this month's update, likely out in two weeks, will include the FOV slider and the anticipated and often requested first-person servers.
