Trump Names John Kelly As Chief Of Staff; Priebus Out

Friday on Fox News Channel's "Tucker Carlson Tonight", Washington Post columnist Charles Krauthammer reacted to the announcement Department of Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly would be replacing Reince Priebus as chief of staff.

Both in a statement and a CNN interview fired White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus has continued to unrelentingly suck up to the least popular president in the history of polling.

In a series of tweets just before 17:00 local time (22:00 GMT), Mr Trump praised the former Marine Corp general as a "great American", and a "great leader".

It also came shortly after the new White House communication director, Anthony Scaramucci, in a foul-mouthed interview published by the New Yorker, accused Priebus of leaking to the press.

Grassley has regularly tagged the president in his tweets to give advice, thank the president, and also to wish him a happy birthday. "We accomplished a lot together and I proud of him!" On Friday evening, Trump announced that he has appointed Gen. John Kelly as Priebus' replacement.

Trump has picked Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly as his new chief of staff.

"General John Kelly is one of the true stars of the administration".

His press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said Thursday that she did not know if Trump "has an opinion on what" should happen between Priebus and Scaramucci. According to several reports, Trump in the last few weeks repeatedly referred to Priebus as "weak" and someone who can't get job done.

"If you look back at chiefs of staff it's the number one hot seat there is, as far as a West Wing employee", Priebus said.

Political analyst Scott Spradling said it became evident this week that Priebus's days were numbered. "I support him in making sure that the American people see and realize the work that he's done". "I'm always going to be a Trump fan". Mr Trump said in a tweet.

"I'm doing great", Priebus said.

Kelly has also repeatedly demonstrated the personal loyalty Trump craves by defending the administration's conduct on television.
