Adam Gase says Jay Cutler will be Dolphins starting quarterback

Adam Gase says Jay Cutler will be Dolphins starting quarterback

Cutler agreed to return to the NFL Sunday after a brief retirement following the knee injury to Ryan Tannehill.

Still to be determined is how quickly Cutler can shake off the rust and lingering doubts about his attitude, toughness and decision-making, all of which were often questioned in Chicago.

The last time Cutler faced the Patriots was in 2014 when he was with the Bears and the Patriots won the game, 51-23 at Gillette Stadium. This is the most talented offense that Cutler will have had the opportunity to play in, which will allow his talents to come out.

But according to Armando Salguero of The Miami Herald, some familiar names were on the Dolphins' list if Cutler had chose to stick to broadcasting. He'd previously retired for a broadcasting job at Fox after finding a tepid market in free agency.

The 34-year-old National Football League quarterback will be reuniting with Coach Adam Gase, who he worked with in Chicago. Despite having a lot of the physical tools that you would look for in a quarterback, Cutler has never reached his potential in the NFL. Similar to Cutler, Glennon has a big arm, but his accuracy is pretty ugly.

However, it is not like Cutler is the ideal quarterback. And although, this upcoming draft seems to have some good prospects at the quarterback position, they don't always pan out.

Personally, I am going to go with Jay Cutler. In Gase's only season with the Bears (2015), Cutler had arguably his best career season, completing 64.4% of his passes for 3,659 yards, 21 touchdowns and only 11 interceptions.

We know he was reviled by some coaches in Denver, which is why he was traded.

For now, the Dolphins have a new leader and many interested observers in Chicago. And the Dolphins have a very good trio of receivers with Kenny Stills, Jarvis Landry and Devante Parker.
