Chelsea ready to go with £35m for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

The 23-year-old has attracted plenty of interest from fellow Premier League clubs with the Daily Star claiming that Chelsea and Liverpool have both indicated their willingness to pay £25m for the contract rebel.

Arsenal have a battle on their hands after Chelsea increased their bid for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, the midfielder who has reportedly told the club he wants to leave in this summer transfer window.

SunSport recently revealed the Blues were eyeing a swoop for the Arsenal midfielder, who has so far refused to sign a new contract.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger however lavished praise on the 23-year-old in his press conference on Wednesday.

Blues' boss Antonio Conte is an admirer of the England worldwide and is keen to add him to his squad as he prepares for a return to the Champions League.

Oxlade-Chamberlain moved to the Emirates Stadium from Southampton in the summer of 2011 and has since racked up nearly two hundred appearances in all competitions, scoring twenty goals.

The newspaper says that Oxlade-Chamberlain is also keen on the idea of playing for Chelsea as they are able to offer him Champions League football as well as meet his £120,000-a-week wage demands.

Arsene Wenger has insisted he wants Oxlade-Chamberlain to stay, but if Arsenal can agree a new contract with the player or not remains to be seen. He is on the way up and he will continue to move up because that potential is there.

"Personally, I think he is a hugely talented player".
