Finance a Surface Pro with Microsoft's new monthly payment option

In addition to the Surface Laptop and Surface Pro, Microsoft's new Pen is also compatible with the Surface 3, Pro 3, Pro 4, Book and Studio.

Essentially, you'll be able to pay for your next Surface purchase in installments, spread over at least 24 months.

For instance, the entry-level Surface Pro configuration with a core m3 and 4GB of RAM costs about $799, but under the Surface Plus plan, the total payment would be broken down to $33.29 per month for 24 months. The upgrade, meanwhile, is sold to you at full price under the same 24 month interest-free finance agreement as the original - meaning you're nearly certain to save money by selling your original Surface on the second-hand market then buying the new device on a fresh contract compared to taking Microsoft up on its upgrade offer. See program FAQs and Terms and Conditions for additional information. Surface Plus for Businesses allow customers to add as many devices as they want under a single agreement and have a mix of models. There's also a 30-day return window.

Surface Plus for Business comes with the Microsoft Complete for Business extended service plan, and it also provides accidental damage protection. At the high end, the Surface Studio starts at $2,999, while organizations have to call Microsoft to get a price on a Surface Hub device.

Small and medium-sized businesses that are now enrolled in the Surface Membership program can take advantage of Surface Plus for Business program to enjoy the same enterprise-grade services and support under the Surface Plus for Business plan. All of the business machines ship with Win 10 Pro, and Office 365 adds $8/month to the cost.

Microsoft this week unveiled two leasing programs for its various Surface devices - one for students and one for SMBs - that both have plenty of fine print to consider.

Availing the Surface Plus program will grant customers access to service and support, including a Surface training session, from Microsoft Stores.

Those who finance under this program are given the option of upgrading their device after 18 months have passed, just like with a smartphone.

"Surface is designed to help people better create, collaborate, learn, and get things done", Microsoft's Liz Hamren explains.
