The Vertical first reported Robinson's hiring.

According to Shams Charania of The Vertical, the Knicks have hired Craig Robinson to a position that will be centered around player development.

Robinson is not expected to serve as general manager for the Knicks' G League team.

Robinson is the brother of former First Lady Michelle Obama and, of course, the brother-in-law of former President Barack Obama. They also created the only front office in the Association with an African-American president and an African-American general manager-a progressive truth that was built upon with the latest hire. He played at Princeton with Knicks president Steve Mills. Robinson has coaching and executive experience on the college and professional levels.

The New York Knicks are hoping to restore order in Madison Square Garden, in a seemingly never-ending quest to make the Knicks great, or just relevant, again.

According to Charania, Robinson's job will be multi-faceted, taking on various different responsibilities in NY. In 2006, he became the head coach at Brown, and he then took the same job at Oregon State two years later.
