LG to Adopt 'OLED Full Vision' on New Flagship Smartphone

While LG's G-series falls under its major lineup as well, but the description of the "major smartphone" in comparison with last year's LG V20, pretty much makes it obvious that LG V30 is the smartphone is issue. The V30 is a small step forward from the G6 but at least it is built to give other flagships a fight.

This is apparently possible because the upper and lower bezels have been cut down by 20% and 50%, respectively, as compared to the V20.

We already know that LG's V30 will be unveiled on August 31 at IFA in Berlin.

The company first introduced FullVision displays on the LG G6, its flagship launched earlier this year, and this type of display is also used on the new LG Q6.

Everything should look suitably EPIC on the display as well, thanks to its HDR10 support and 148% sRGB and 109% DCI-P3 color gamuts. The upcoming V30 will sport an OLED FullVision display, a patented term LG has coined to describe minimized bezels. V30 is said to be smaller in size than V20, which released previous year.

In a move to counter Apple's next iPhone, LG is set to bring its new smartphone with a 6-inch OLED display.

The logo of LG Electronics will be located at the back, seeking what the company calls "minimalist design" for the front. LG is an old player in this game and is not new to such fresh features.

LG further says that consumers are looking for bigger screen smartphones in a compact form factor. All of it will be filled up by the display of course, which LG confirmed will be 6-inches this time. "Encapsulation significantly reduces oxidation of the pixels and LG's pixel-scanning technology allows for less energy to be applied to each pixel, also saving battery power", the company said in a statement. This display will be protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 with shatter-resistant technology.

Additional features that are being reported includes support for Daydream VR, HDR 10 support, quad-DAC audio, and IP68 water resistance. At this time, the informants noted that the display module will form a modern platform P-OLED, the hallmark of which is a thin plastic substrate instead of a thick glass.
