Look! "Despacito" Is The First YouTube Video To Reach 3 Billion Views

With more than 4.6 billion streams globally, the song is now the most streamed song ever.

But note the pace at which "Despacito" has risen: it took just 203 days for it to become the most-viewed YouTube video ever, compared to the 827 days it took "See You Again" to overhaul PSY's "Gangnam Style".

It seems like it was an inevitability that "See You Again" would be surpassed, but "Despacito" didn't take long to grab the throne.

The song "Despacito" by Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee has gotten a lot of attention. "Thank you so much and I can't wait to see you guys!"

To celebrate the song's success in India, Universal Music Group with Davar launched the #DespacitoMovement campaign last month. According to, "Despacito" has become the first Spanish language song to reach the peak in more than 20 years.

The Bieber version has logged 12 weeks at number one on the United States singles chart, the first Spanish-language song to reach the top spot since 'Macarena' in 1996 and matching the 12-week reign earlier this year of Ed Sheeran's 'Shape of You'. However, the record breaking music video does not include Biebs.

The "Despacito" video, first published in January, is a love letter to Fonsi's native Puerto Rico, showing the beauty of the island and the joy of its people in scenes filled with landscapes and dancing. "My dance company and I had a great time working on this video".
