Netanyahu's former aide to testify against him in graft case

Police have been investigating Netanyahu for several months over the cases but have released sparse details.

Netanyahu has repeatedly denied wrongdoing and calls the accusations a witch hunt.

They rejected Regev and Edelson's claims regarding the violation of their privacy and stated that "the public interest in disclosing the requested information exceeds، in the circumstances، the right of Adelson، Regev، and the Prime Minister to privacy".

Another former Netanyahu aide who worked with Harow said that his testimony could be a "bombshell" against the prime minister, given the extent of his knowledge.

Police reportedly have a copy of a recording made by Harrow of a 2014 conversation between Netanyahu and the publisher. The fact that Netanyahu's personal attorney, David Shomron, represents TKMS in Israel sparked an investigation that saw a former IDF general detained for questioning in mid-July, along with several other suspects. Germany postponed the submarine deal due to the investigation.

Israel's top court ruled Monday that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu must divulge information on his meeting with Sheldon Adelson and the editors of the Israel Hayom (Israel Today) daily, published by Adelson and considered supportive of Netanyahu. Add to these the sordid "Bottlegate" affair in which his penny-pinching wife kept the deposits from drinks bottles used for official affairs at the prime minister's residence, as well as allegations of misuse of state funds to remodel his private residency in the posh community of Caesarea, and it may be said that he has had quite a colorful career. Netanyahu is serving his fourth term as Prime Minister.

The reports had originally been requested in accordance with the Freedom of Information Law on the grounds that the information is of public interest.

Even if eventually indicted, Netanyahu would not be obliged by law to resign. "Whether Netanyahu will resign is a political question, not a legal one, and that is good for the health of Israeli democracy".
