Soon you will be able to control Windows 10 using your EYES

Microsoft is testing a Windows 10 feature that allows people to control features of the operating system with their eyes.

It will arrive on mainstream Windows 10 with Fall Creators Update.

It should get picked up automatically, downloaded to the system and installed afterwards.

So, what do you stand gaining from the latest Windows 10 preview that has just been released? When it's not in focus, clicking and dragging the text it will remain under the cursor - previously the text would shift as the "http://" appeared, making it annoying to edit parts of the URL.

No more issues when selecting text in the address bar for copying, or modifying the URL, as the selection is not changed anymore automatically.

The feature is now in its beta testing stage for the Windows 10 Insider Preview Build. The company has stated that specialized hardware will be required, and adds that Eye Control will work with majority of tracking solutions, which also includes the Tobii 4C. The Eye Control feature now supports only with selected eye trackers of Tobii hardware, however Microsoft plans to bring more devices in future.

"With eye tracking, devices can better understand our intentions, a key ability in creating truly natural human-computer interaction", said president of Tobii Tech Oscar Werner in a statement, VentureBeat reports. If you want to like a post you may only need to blink. That gadget, the Tobii Eye Tracker 4C, will set you back $149 if you snag it from Amazon, which isn't a massive hit to your wallet, but the real trick will be actually finding one online. Once that's done, open Settings, select Ease of Access, then Other Options and scroll down and turn on Eye Control.

To interact with the UI with Eye Control, look at the relevant spot until the button activates, a visual accordance will appear around the UI. The keyboard also boasts shape-writing, which can facilitate faster typing (allowing you to pause on the first and last characters of the word, but just glance at the letters in between, Swype-style). This is possible with the help of an eye tracking device. However, upgrading Windows to this new build will brings new colours but without the new defaults.

A full list of improvements and changes can be found on Microsoft's Windows Blog.

The launching of the touch keyboard from the task bar on a touch-based device has been improved as it's now quicker.

Microsoft does, however, identify some known issues with the feature. Microsoft plans to release a tool soon that will let developers try out the new color scheme, he said.
