Hulu and Spotify to Launch New Streaming Bundle

Spotify and Hulu have announced their plans to team up to give USA college students access to both of their premium subscriptions for just $5 per month.

Spotify Premium for Students with Hulu is available to all qualifying new and existing Spotify student subscribers. Now, the $4.99 student subscription will include Spotify Premium (normally $9.99) and a premium subscription to Hulu (normally $7.99). "We're very excited to be partnering with Hulu - a like-minded company which is as focused as we are on delivering the very best in high quality streaming content".

But there's also good news for those well out of school, as this is just the first of several bundles that Hulu and Spotify have planned for "the broader market". Usually, Spotify Premium for students alone costs $5 a month, so with this offer the Hulu comes in as a free add-on.

The new deal marks the first TV-and-movie partnership for Spotify, which confirmed the hiring of Disney executive Courtney Holt to run its original video and podcast programming Wednesday. The plan will be pitched to consumers as "Spotify Premium for Students, now with Hulu". Even better is the discount students will be getting by signing up, as it offers significant savings over subscribing to both separately. If you're already on Premium for Students, you can now activate Hulu.

Sharing your Spotify playlist with a classmate or a ~crush~ is the most effective way of opening the window to your soul.

You need to be above 18 and enrolled in a US Title IV college, and if you already have Spotify Premium you can easily upgrade and add Hulu, no worries. And Spotify does verify enrollment through SheerID, so if you were hoping to use your old undergraduate email address to game the system, that's probably not going to work so well for you.
