Indian soldier killed in Pakistan firing in Kashmir

A Border Security Force (BSF) man was killed and a civilian injured when Pakistani troops breached border ceasefire and fired on BSF positions and civilian areas in Arnia sub-sector of International Border (IB) in Jammu district.

He is a native of Vidya Bhawan Naraypur village in Balia district of Uttar Pradesh. One civilian has also been injured.

Parekh called it a violation of the 2003 ceasefire accord between the nuclear rivals, both of who claim Kashmir in its entirety. "The bullet him on the left side of the abdomen and he reached martyrdom during the evacuation", an officer said.

The exchanges of firing between the Indian soldiers and the Pakistan terrorists continued till Friday morning.

Speaking to media, Deputy Chief Minister condemned the killing and said that India will give Pakistan a befitting reply. BSF Constable Brijendra Bahadur Singh was executed in terminating by Pakistan in Arnia range of Jammu and Kashmir's RS Pura segment.
