Michelle Williams Circles The Symbiote Suit In VENOM

Michelle Williams Circles The Symbiote Suit In VENOM

Although at the time of reporting, Williams' role has not been revealed but joins fellow actors Riz Ahmed and Tom Hardy - who is to star in the titular role.

Venom is being directed by Zombieland's Ruben Fleischer from a script written by Jeff Pinkner and Scott Rosenberg. Now, Michelle Williams is circling a role in Venom, which is being described in the trades as "a district attorney, and potentially Hardy's love interest".

Sony had no comment on the casting reports. We learned back in August that Emmy Award victor Riz Ahmed is also reportedly in talks to join the cast of Venom. The upcoming R-rated Venom will certainly be one to watch out for now that it has added the stellar acting skills of Michelle Williams, and possibly #SheVenom to the mix. The Academy Award-nominated actress is coming off one of the best-reviewed performances of her career, in "Manchester by the Sea", which earned her an Oscar nomination for best supporting actress. We have a full breakdown of the upcoming and potential films in Sony's planned Spider-Man extended universe without Spider-Man here. As a result, you have a creature with all of Venom's powers, but none of Eddie Brock's (admittedly limited) morals and scruples. He originally set out to destroy Spider-Man, but subsequently becomes an ally, and appears alongside many other Marvel Comics' characters. Matt Tolmach and Avi Arad will produce.

Venom, which also has Riz Ahmed circling, is scheduled to hit U.S. cinemas on October 5, 2018.

Venom made his big-screen debut in 2007's Spider-Man 3, with Topher Grace portraying Eddie Brock in the notoriously maligned Spider-Man franchise sequel.
