White House Says ESPN Host Jemele Hill's Tweets Are A

Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders was asked about Hill's tweets during her daily briefing on Wednesday, and said they should be considered a "fireable offense". Tim Scott (R-S.C.), who is Black, and other "highly respected leaders in the African-American community".

The National Association of Black Journalists said in a statement Wednesday it supported Hill's First Amendment right "on all matters of discussion, within and outside the world of sports, as they do not impinge on her duties as a host and commentator".

I think she is a talented broadcaster, a provocative writer and one of the brightest stars in the ESPN universe.

The White House has responded to comments made by ESPN's Jemele Hill about President Donald Trump.

Hill went on a tirade about President Donald Trump, in which she called him a white supremacist and said he was unfit to be president. "So I think no action here against Jemele Hill is a clear sign that they're in agreement". However, it turns out that the White House has received word pertaining to the comments.

Among the tweets sent by Hill over the weekend were a number that targeted the president, following a Twitter conversation that began with the anchor hitting out at Kid Rock over the singer's use of the Confederate flag. Rather, Hill says she regrets the spot it put her employer in.

But NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who made national headlines a year ago for kneeling during the national anthem before games to protest police brutality, expressed his support for Ms Hill in a tweet.

It would have been nice to see ESPN support Hill for her very reasonable comments, but again, they are a business and it's not that odd for them to take a more neutral stance here.

Trump was criticized by both Republicans and Democrats for his handling of the white supremacist march in Charlottesville after he initially blamed the deadly violence "on many sides".

Hill, who is African-American, was personally attacked on social media with numerous racist responses directed at her accounts. "But hey, that's just me".

Play-by-play announcer Robert Lee, a Syracuse University alum, was moved from calling a Virginia football game earlier this month.
