Great Dane Christensen proof Chelsea system works - Emenalo

Former Nigerian International, Michael Emenalo has ended his 10-year association with Chelsea following his sudden departure as the club's technical director.

Emenalo said it had been a hard decision to make, adding: "I have had the privilege to work alongside some of the most talented people in the world of sport over the past 10 years and I will depart incredibly proud of the achievements we have made".

Speaking to Sky Sports, the manager said: 'Christensen is 22 years old, he showed great personality, for sure he is the present and the future for Chelsea, the same for Ampadu.

'I have had the privilege to work alongside some of the most talented people in the world of sport over the past 10 years, and I will depart incredibly proud of the achievements we have made.

Emenalo has already been linked with a position at Monaco.

"It is with regret that the owner and board of directors accepted Michael's resignation this week", Chelsea chairman Bruce Buck said.

Emenalo joined Chelsea way back in 2007 while Avram Grant was in charge at the Bridge. "I wish Chelsea every success and look forward to following the club's future triumphs from afar". "We are sorry to see him go but understand his desire to move on and explore new challenges".

According to a report on the Telegraph, Emenalo quit after declining not to engage in a three-way power battle with current Chelsea manager Antonio Conte and Marina Granovskaia who are known not to see eye to eye.

The Blues boss vented his frustration at the media's constant digs when asked about the potential return of Carlo Ancelotti to the Premier League champions - his compatriot supposedly being in the running to take over from Conte if he is sacked at any point.
