Huge IT Raids on Jaya, Sasi & Dinakaran properties

The I-T department has all the right to conduct raids.

A promulgation machine set up by AIADMK's female authority Jayalalithaa, Jaya TV is claimed by Sasikala and is taken care of by her relatives in her nonattendance.

Speaking of the raids, the IT officials said that they were acting on a tip-off, which said that the channel had evaded taxes. The simultanious search were conducted cross Tamil Nadu, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Delhi and other places. Jaya TV, started by former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa in 1999 was a mouthpiece of the AIADMK and has lately become a severe critic of the Edappadi Palanisamy government.

"Dhinakaran today said the Income-Tax raids at the residences of his family members were aimed at removing him and his aunt and jailed leader V K Sasikala from politics". "The Central government has sent the I-T department after me".

"I heard that raids are taking place at my farm house, it is a lonely place". At least a dozen Officials began the process of raid at 6 am, at the office.

"We will evolve a strategy once the raids get over", said a support of Dhinakaran.

"If the Centre thinks they can destroy us by conducting such raids, they are day-dreaming", he added.

Raids are also being conducted at the Domlur residence of Pugazhendi, AIADMK Karnataka in-charge. However, after the party broke into factions led by Chief Minister K. Palaniswami, former Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam (who later became Deputy Chief Minister after merging his faction with Palaniswami's), and Sasikala and Dinakaran, they promoted only the Sasikala-Dinakaran faction.

The state secretary of the Communist Party of India (CPI), R. Mutharasan, termed the raids as a case of abuse of official machinery. "My simple question is why target the family?" asked Prasanna, spokesperson of the Sasikala-Dhinakaran faction of AIADMK.

Nanjil Sampath, senior MLA close to Dinakaran said the raids were not surprising at all.

In Mannargudi and Thanjavur, raids focused on the residences of Sasikala's husband M Natarajan, Divaharan and Sundaravadanam, apart from a number of their associates.
