Matic limps off for Manchester United against Watford

Ashley Young scored twice in the first half and Jesse Lingard ensured there would be no late fightback from Watford with a 60-meter solo goal to complete a 4-2 win at Vicarage Road on Tuesday.

Making his third straight start in the Premier League, Young provided the opener in the 19th minute after receiving Lingard's pass at the top of the box and popping the ball up in the air with his first touch before sending a laser inside the near post.

Watford rallied, however, with Troy Deeney pulling one back from the penalty spot before Abdoulaye Doucoure turned home with six minutes remaining.

And it was the former Watford man's second strike which caused Jose Mourinho to wonder just what the fucking hell fire was going on.

The 32-year-old needed less than six minutes to add to that tally with an even better goal, this time bending a precise free-kick past a helpless Heurelho Gomes.

Gomes was nearly rooted to the spot as Young's shot curled into the top corner.

Had it not been for Gomes it would have been 4-0 by half-time, the Brazilian getting down to save from Lukaku and then reacting extraordinarily quickly to palm Lingard's follow-up over the bar.

Marco Silva's Watford hit the bar through Richarlison, but never looked like recording a second successive home win over the Red Devils.

Watford fashioned their first real chance in first-half stoppage time after Femenia motored across the pitch and crossed from the left, with Richarlison's header clipping the crossbar.

It was not all good news for Mourinho as Nemanja Matic limped off early in the second half to be replaced by Ander Herrera.

There was a further lift for the home fans when Deeney made his return after a three-game suspension.
