The smartphone boots Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. Elsewhere, the phone is backed by Android Nougat software with the company's home-grown Arbo virtual assistant.

The phone has a tough fight in hand against the likes of Xiaomi's Redmi Note 4 and Motorola's G5 Plus. Under the hood, there is a quad-core processor clocked at 1.25GHz, which is mated with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Talking about the display, there's a 5.2 inch LCD display having resolution of 1,280 by 720 pixels at the ratio of 16:9.

In the camera department, the Eluga A4 packs in a 13-megapixel camera on the back which is coupled with an LED flash for low light photography. The Eluga A4 comes with the company's own ARBO personal digital assistant Commenting on the launch, Pankaj Rana Business Head - Mobility Division of Panasonic India said, "The increasing demands for 4G smartphones with a good battery at an affordable price has become a necessity today".

While bezel-less phones are the rave in the Smartphone market, Panasonic has kept it simple with traditional borders that accommodate a 5 megapixel front camera on the top. Also, the internal storage of the phone can be expandable to 128 GB by using a microSD card SIM slot. The main highlight of the device is its huge 5,000mAh battery. The Panasonic Eluga A4 will be available across both online and offline retail channels. It can be availed in color like Champagne Gold, Mocha Gold and Maine Blue. Connectivity-wise you get a dual-SIM card slot, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0, Global Positioning System and a 3.5mm audio port (for earphones or headphones).
