SPOILERS* Major Title Change At Tonight's Smackdown Taping

That would appear to have major ramifications for the Survivor Series pay-per-view card.

Styles is now a two-time WWE Champion following last year's triumph against Dean Ambrose at Backlash. Jinder Mahal is no longer WWE champion and AJ Styles has re-assumed his rightful place as titleholder. The match will air tonight on the USA Network. This is definitely a better match than Lesnar and Mahal would have been, and fans are bound to be more interested in AJ facing Lesnar.

With Styles now reigning as WWE World Champion, he will fill Mahal's spot as the representative of the blue brand.

New champion crowned at SmackDown LIVE in United Kingdom.

There's still plenty of time for him to win the title back, of course, but as of right now, the champion is The Phenomenal One. This presumably sets up AJ Styles vs. Brock Lesnar in a champion vs. champion match at Survivor Series, replacing Jinder Mahal. He had been a relatively successful champion, defending the title among the likes of Shinsuke Nakamura and Randy Orton in the time that he was champion. That team will now face the Usos in another champion vs. champion match at Survivor Series.
