Twitter employee deactivates Donald Trump's account for 11 minutes

The account was restored by 7.03 pm and T witter took responsibility for the outage. Once a user chooses to do so, Twitter retains that data for 30 days, after which it begins the process of deleting the account from its systems.

Twitter first blamed the deactivation to "human error".

"My Twitter account was taken down for 11 minutes by a rogue employee", Trump said on Twitter early on Friday.

The story of President Donald Trump's Twitter account being temporarily deactivated by someone on their last day of work at Twitter is internet gold, isn't it?

A Twitter employee, on his last day at the job, deactivated the account of Donald Trump on the social network.

On Thursday evening, visitors to Mr Trump's page for a short time could only see a message that read "Sorry, that page doesn't exist!"

Trump often uses Twitter to comment on political and military matters. "We are conducting a full internal review", Twitter said in a tweet late on Thursday. Many Twitter users sent out screenshots of the temporarily nonexistent page.

Mr Trump's Twitter output has always been a source of controversy, especially since his entry into politics.

After investigating the incident, Twitter administration figured out exactly what happened. Suspensions aren't uncommon on the site.

There are easy arguments to be made that he's violated Twitter's terms of service with some of the very bad things he's tweeted, including his antagonistic tweets towards North Korea, but Twitter has, so far, made excuses for allowing him to remain active. The tweet was interpreted by many, including the foreign minister, as a threat of military action against the country. "My guess: Trump's lawyers told him to delete his account, because he is in serious legal jeopardy", tweeted journalist David Klion.

The White House later denied this was a declaration of war, but such tweets have been seen by some unsafe in the context of North Korea's increasing nuclear capabilities.
