Missing Columbia County teen found in upstate NY

According to Rodriguez's arrest report, Caitlyn's mother, Scarlet Frisina, had been calling her daughter's known friends and discovered Caitlyn's relationship with Rodriguez.

"I know that she to some degree left on her own".

The incident began Sunday when Frisina's parents reported her missing.

Caitlyn Frisina, 17, was located in NY, authorities said Friday, with Rian Rodriguez, 27, a family friend and Frisina's father's assistant soccer coach at the high school, authorities said.

A missing Florida teen has been found safe in North Syracuse on Friday by New York State Police.

State Police say Rodriguez was familiar with Central New York- the Cicero area in particular.

The aunt of a 17-year-old girl who fled with a 27-year-old man from Florida shared a photo of the family reunited after a week-long, national search.

Rian Rodriguez, 27, was taken into custody without incident.

The two were believed to be headed north, authorities said earlier this week.

"By not showing up, he's absent without leave and we just felt like the best thing to do at this point was go ahead and terminate him and cut our ties with him", said Columbia County School Board Chairman Keith Hudson at a board meeting Tuesday.

A trooper spotted the red Mercury around 4 p.m. near Taft Road and Route 11 in North Syracuse and stopped the vehicle.

Rodriguez has not been arrested or charged at this time, but he is cooperating with the investigators and is now being questioned, according to NY state police.

Authorities did not release much additional information in statements Friday, though they indicated a news conference Monday will provide updates.
