Oklahoma Sooners' Lead Running Back Accused Of Rape

Oklahoma Sooners' Lead Running Back Accused Of Rape

A protective order has been issued against Oklahoma running back Rodney Anderson in Cleveland County (Oklahoma) District Court accusing him of rape.

In the protective order, which was obtained by the Oklahoman's Brooke Pryor, the woman says the incident took place after she met Anderson and his friends at a bar on November 16, two days before the Sooners' game at Kansas.

"Mr. Anderson first learned of [the woman's] request for a civil protective order late yesterday evening", attorney Derek Chance said in a statement via ESPN.

No. 2 OU plays No. 3 Georgia in the Rose Bowl on January 1 for the College Football Playoff semifinal game.

The petition says Anderson, 21, walked the woman home after meeting her for the first time at a bar and drinking. The plan was for her to take an Uber home, but "Rodney's friends insisted that he take me home". She said she initially remembered kissing Anderson and vomiting.

The woman says that over the weekend, through a conversation with a friend, she started "recalling images and feelings of him forcing his fingers" inside her and biting her.

Until then, Anderson is prohibited from having any contact with the alleged victim and to stay away from her residence.

According to Oklaw.org, the state of Oklahoma defines a protective order as "a civil court order that is created to stop violent and harassing behavior and to protect you and your family from the abuser".

The Associated Press does not identify people who say they have been sexually assaulted without their permission to publish their name.

University of Oklahoma officials said on Monday they are aware of the incident and investigating. He is a redshirt sophomore, having missed most of the last two seasons with injuries.

Anderson was the leading rusher for the Sooners this past season, gaining 960 yards on the ground with 11 touchdowns. Oklahoma plays Georgia in a national semifinal on January 1. The Cincinnati Bengals selected Mixon in the second round of this year's draft.
