Penn State to play Washington in Fiesta Bowl

The game will air on ESPN. Penn State is Arizona bound for the Fiesta Bowl. The trip marks Penn State's 48th all-time bowl appearance.

The Nittany Lions' second straight 10-win regular season earned them a second straight berth in a prestigious New Year's Six game. "This is a reward for them, and an opportunity to be together one more time and continue to create pride in our University". He has set career records on receptions and touchdowns for a career at Penn State.

"We are looking forward to heading to Fiesta Bowl and we are very grateful to the Fiesta Bowl Committee for the opportunity", Penn State Head Coach James Franklin said. Browning may not have put up the insane numbers this season that he did a year ago, but the reigning Pac-12 player of the year is still no slouch. "We expect to see 107K strong out in full force in Glendale for one final game with this special group of seniors". Ohio State and ASU both have five Fiesta Bowl wins.

No major bowl game has treated Penn State better than the Fiesta, where the Lions are 6-0, including their last national championship victory over Miami at the end of the 1986 season. That game was played at Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe, Ariz.

No. 11 Washington, tied for second in the Pac-12 North, is also 10-2, with losses to unranked Arizona State, 13-7, and No. 13 Stanford, 30-22.

Most expected the Lions and Huskies would play in the Cotton Bowl.
