Trump "very happy" after Flynn plea: "There's been absolutely no collusion".

Trump tweeted about Flynn later in the day, recalling his firing after it was revealed he misled Vice President Mike Pence about his conversations with Kislyak.

Donald Trump's former top adviser Michael Flynn pleaded guilty on Friday to lying over his contacts with Russian Federation, in a dramatic escalation of the FBI's probe into possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Moscow.

Peter Strzok, as deputy head of counterintelligence at the FBI, was a key player in the investigation into Clinton's use of a private email server to do government work as secretary of state, as well as the probe into possible coordination between the Trump campaign and Russian Federation in the 2016 election.

Inspector general Michael Horowitz is leading a broader examination of the FBI's investigation of Clinton's emails. He is a good guy.

In July 2016, then-FBI Director James Comey announced he would recommend Clinton face no charges for her use of a private email server as secretary of state. Mueller was ramping up his investigation into Mr. Trump's former advisers, while also coming under criticism for putting many donors to Democratic candidates on his team. For months, officials have refused to explain why Strzok was reassigned, but people familiar with the matter said it was ultimately Mueller's decision.

Flynn resigned from his post February 13 and Comey testified before Senate Intelligence Committee that in a February 14 meeting in the White House - just a day after Flynn had left - Trump asked him to drop the investigation.

"What has been shown is no collusion, no collusion", Mr Trump told reporters as he departed the White House for the NY trip.

When asked by reporters if he was anxious about what Flynn might say, Trump said, "No, I'm not".

Brushing aside an ongoing Russian Federation probe, President Donald Trump reveled Saturday in the Senate's passage of a sweeping tax bill, predicting with swagger that he and his fellow Republicans were "unbeatable".

According to that same memo, Trump specifically told Comey in that conversation that Flynn had done nothing wrong.

As part of his plea on Friday, Flynn agreed to co-operate with the investigation.

Mr. Mueller's investigators have learned through witnesses and documents that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu asked the Trump transition team to lobby other countries to help Israel, according to two people briefed on the inquiry.

Strzok was present during Clinton's July 2016 interview with the Federal Bureau of Investigation about her use of a private email server while she was secretary of state, according to an unclassified summary of the interview commonly referred to as an Federal Bureau of Investigation 302 form.
