I'd 'beat Oprah' in 2020 presidential match-up

I'd 'beat Oprah' in 2020 presidential match-up

"Oprah will be lots of fun", Trump said on Tuesday. But I don't think she's actively considering it at this time. "I do think that after years of watching 'The Oprah Show, ' you always have a right to change your mind", she said.

"I know her very well", Trump said.

Trump has tweeted about Oprah over a dozen times and posted her inspirational messages and quotes.

Speculation about Winfrey's own political ambitions are mounting after she delivered a powerful speech at the Golden Globe awards on Sunday night, weaving stories of racial and gender injustice into a hopeful narrative that many argued read like a political stump speech.

But it was her exhortation of the legions of women who have called out sexual harassers - and her dream of a day "when nobody has to say "me too" again" - that got some influential political operatives thinking Winfrey might be just what the Democrats need.

"For too long, women have not been heard or believed if they dare speak the truth to the power of those men", she said. "But their time is up", Winfrey said. "She loves this country and would like to be of service in some way".

Oprah's presidential history also extends to the previous administration.

Joy Behar was, perhaps unsurprisingly, all for it, making sure to mention the difference between Oprah and Trump as celebrity billionaires is that Oprah is a true self-made billionaire, while, Trump's career was kick started by his wealthy father.

If Winfrey did run, it would be an interesting matchup, considering her opponent is such a huge fan of hers. I think, if she'd do it, she'd be fantastic.

Even earlier than that, Trump even suggested that he would like her as his running mate when he eventually ran for president. She's really a great woman, though, she is a terrific woman. In fact, she was brought into the mix nearly 20 years ago by current President Donald Trump.

"I probably wouldn't, but I do get exhausted with seeing what's happening with this country and if it got so bad I'd never want to rule it out totally", he said. She's somebody that's very special. "She's popular, she's brilliant, she's a wonderful woman".
