Investigators Suspect Somebody Set Roy Moore Accuser's House on Fire

One of the women who accused U.S. Senate candidate Roy Moore of improper sexual conduct has lost her home to a fire.

Johnson accused Moore of groping her butt in 1991, when she was 28 and visiting his law office. Local news reports no one was in the home during the fire.

Johnson's home on Lake Mary Louise Road in Gadsden, Alabama, burned down Tuesday in a fire now under investigation by the Etowah County Arson Task Force, first reported.

According to the report, neighbors and utility workers called 911 shortly after 8 a.m. Tuesday to report the fire.

Kayla Moore drew ridicule online for the comment she made while introducing her husband during an election-eve rally, after saying her husband had wrongly been depicted as disliking Jewish people and African-Americans.

In an interview with NBC's Megyn Kelly in mid-November, Johnson said she was in her 20s and was signing custody of her son over to her mother when Moore touched her.

"I am devastated, just devastated", said Johnson on Friday morning.

"A suspect of interest is being spoken to", Barton said. We have just the clothes on our backs, ' she said.

She and a neighbor say they saw a young man around the house before and during the fire. "I guess I'm ashamed I didn't say nothing, didn't turn around and slap him".

"I got up there", Tallant said, "and [the fire] was already pretty well started".

Johnson said her family is now living in a motel. The neighbor didn't know what he was talking about, she said, because flames weren't visible at the time.
