Massive fire breaks out at Cinevista studio in Mumbai

A fire broke out on the first floor of three-storey Shiv Shakti building in Mumbai's Lower Parel area on Sunday morning, reported news agency ANI.

A massive fire broke out at Mumbai's Cinevista in the Kkanjurmarg area on Saturday evening, days after the city had witnessed a fire in Kamala Mills compound. Electric wiring, lights and other studio equipment were gutted in the blaze, the cause of which was not immediately known. There is no report about any casualty so far.

Seven fire engines and four water tankers have been rushed to the studio to control the fire. No person was reported injured.

The fire department received the call at 8:07 pm.

On January 6, a fire broke out in the basement of the six-floor Zia Apartments in Nagpada.

The fire at Cinevista studio broke out at around 8 pm, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 7) Akhilesh Singh had said. At the time of the incident, two TV serials were being shot at the studio - Bepanaah (Colors TV) and Haasil (Sony Entertainment Television).
