New Nokia 6 Smartphone With Snapdragon 630 Gets Official

Finally putting an end to all the speculations, HMD Global owned Nokia has just taken the wraps off the much awaited 2018 version of its Nokia 6 smartphone. We had already told you that it will be launching on 5th January in China and now we have a clear look at the device thanks to a Chinese retailer. There's no word on when Nokia 6 (2018) will be launched in India. There are two colour variants for each - Black and Silver.

Fingerprint: Embedded into the home button.

Nokia 6 (2018) model will have a back fingerprint scanner unlike the a year ago released Nokia 6 that had a front-facing scanner. Speaking of the optics, there's a 16-megapixel sensor on the back and an 8-megapixel front shooter. Sadly, the Nokia 6 2018 still runs on Android Nougat 7.1.1 out-of-the-box but the company has promised to upgrade it to Android 8.0 Oreo very soon. There are two variants of the phone when it comes to internal storage: 32GB and 64GB. The phone also features the "Bothies" camera function previously available on the Nokia 7 and Nokia 8. The display has a 16:9 aspect ratio.

However, the device doesn't spot a drastic change in design, from the previous Nokia 6. It has great features, the famous Nokia durability, and is, for now, available only in China. Nokia 6 (2018) sports 4GB RAM with 32GB/64GB storage options, expandable up to 128GB via a microSD card slot. On the hardware side, it seems that there will be an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 630, which is the successor of the Snapdragon 625 and 626 chips and includes an Adreno 508 GPU. Fast charging tech is also supported by the handset. At the front, there is an 8MP camera with same aperture and 84-degree wide-angle lens. Regarding network, the cell phone has FM radio, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth v5, GPS/A-GPS, USB Type-C, and 3.5mm sound jack.

The new Nokia 6 ships with the same cameras as last year's Nokia 6 which means that it carries a 16-megapixel camera on the rear with f/2.0 aperture, Phase Detection Autofocus and dualLED flash.

What has changed is the addition of Nokia's Dual-Sight technology which can capture images from both the primary and secondary camera at the same time.
