New Wind Chill Advisory in effect through Saturday

New Wind Chill Advisory in effect through Saturday

"Very cold wind chills expected".

The icy air and blowing snow that has been impacting the region will continue through the weekend, as forecasters are calling for dangerously low wind chills and up to another half a foot of snow for Titusville. However, the winds made it feel like it was below zero most of the day.

It is very cold tonight with lows in the single digits and again we will be dealing with unsafe wind chill values between -4 and -9 degrees. This will continue to be an issue for clean-up efforts through Saturday night when the winds finally diminish.

Wind chills are expected between zero and 15 degrees below from the Shenandoah Valley into eastern West Virginia and western Maryland. Another cold night Saturday with lows falling into the single digits.

By this evening, the wind will drop below damaging levels, but will remain active enough to take temperatures around zero and produce a wind chill value of 15 to 30 below. Tuesday and Wednesday are pretty similar with partly cloudy conditions, and daytime highs in the low 30s. The Wind Chill Warning will be in effect until 10 A.M.so do be careful out and about tonight. Overnight low's will plummet below zero without the wind, which will be enough to challenge record lows for January 7th (-4 in Allentown and 0 in Reading). The overnight will consist of an increase of cloud cover and another night of below average temperatures.

The next chance for snow will be Monday as a weak cold front moves through. The southerly flow ahead out the low will lead temperatures into the 30s, albeit low 30s. Those temperatures will come with a price tag of some wintry precipitation though.
