Two Palestinians killed in clashes with Israeli forces

Israeli Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman past year said Israel plans to demolish a chunk of Susiya, a small village near Hebron, and Khan al-Ahmar, a Bedouin village near the West Bank settlement of Maale Adumim, parallel to plans to demolish unauthorized West Bank Jewish settlements.

Fourteen Palestinians have been killed since then, with majority shot dead by Israeli forces during protests against the occupation.

Palestinian citizens reported that Israeli soldiers stormed several villages and southern areas such as Nablus and Al-Mahfida.

"We stress the commitment of the Palestinian people to the prisoners and families of the prisoners".

There are also more than 90 settler outposts - built without official authorisation from the Israeli government - across the West Bank, according to an Israeli anti-settlement watchdog.

Past attempts by Israeli authorities to evacuate Havat Gilad have led to clashes with settlers there.

A shooting that killed an Israeli settler on Tuesday in the West Bank led to fresh calls for further settlement building, though the plans approved yesterday were already in the works.

Those without approval are referred to as outposts and are typically populated by hardline religious nationalists, who see the entire West Bank as biblical land promised to them by the "God of Israel".

In response to the murder, Hamas issued a statement praising the attack.

USA involvement with resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is off the table until President Donald Trump revokes his decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, a top Palestinian negotiator said Tuesday.

Israel's Deputy Foreign Minister Tzipi Hotovely replied to the American envoy's statement by tweeting, "Dear Ambassador Friedman, we deeply appreciate your solidarity with Israel".

The Peace Now group said a meeting on Wednesday by a planning committee of Israel's military-run Civil Administration for the West Bank also moved plans for 770 other settler homes to more advanced stages. The Palestinians claim the territory as part of their future state.

The PA's own records show payments to terrorists and their families of more than $347 million in 2017, the Defense Ministry said. Those who committed more severe crimes and are sentenced to 20 or more years in prison are paid five times that every month for the rest of their lives.
